PROGRAM NOTES
Sin City is a raucous, fast-paced swing tune meant to evoke the glitz, glamour, and heady adrenaline of an idealized Vegas in its prime. There's no seedy underbelly here: just driving percussion, wailing trumpets, and a shout chorus that emerges in the middle of the form like a neon oasis glittering the desert.
Commissioned by Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras. Premiered by the FSYO Alphonse Carlo Jazz Band at Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts, Orlando, FL (May 2023).
